Mentoring is one of the most effective tools we have to see a life changed for eternity.

For us at Denver Area Youth For Christ, a mentor is simply a person who is committed to "doing life" with a young person.  We are a relational ministry and this can include many different forms, but not be limited to:

  • Being present (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually)
  • Being committed and consistent
  • Being a great listener
  • Aiding a young person with life's challenges (providing wisdom, helping him/her with school, helping him/her find a job, helping him/her get connected with a church, etc.)
  • Pursuing God and then hopefully getting to a place where the mentor and young person can pursue God together
  • Loving the young person with all you have

Also, we meet young people in three unique areas:

  1.  Parent Life: working with parenting teens. Click here to learn more about mentoring with Parent Life and get involved.
  2. Campus Life: with students on Middle School and High School Campuses.  Click here to learn more about mentoring with Campus Life and get involved.
  3. Juvenile Justice Ministry: working with youth in the system and at short-term detention facilities, long-term committed facilities, and Foster care youth that are aging out of the system. Click here to learn more about mentoring with Juvenile Justice and get involved.
  4. City Life: a relational, holistic ministry to youth in urban communities.  Click here to learn more about mentoring with City Life and get involved.
